What is Biodesign?

Personal Definition

Biodesign, more than being an intersection of science, biology, arts and design is a way of thinking, a way of perceiving our relationship and interactions with the environment and other organisms we shared it with. It is the next step of the design thinking process, in which we not only design specifically for us, but we design as an ecosystem, as part of a bigger system of inorganic and organic matter that is not determine only by humanity.

Universidad de los Andes - Facultad de Arquitectura y Diseño

The Design program at Universidad de los Andes trains professionals who are open and attentive to the social, cultural and technological dynamics of the contemporary world. Thanks to an interdisciplinary vision, design projects move between the tangible and the intangible and articulate solutions where the human being is the center.
Design at Universidad de los Andes is articulated around three emphasis: Creation, Project and Research.
